On the day when Zeus arose and overthrew his father, the tyrant of time, he took from the dead god’s hand the mightiest artifact ever forged. The staff of Chronos. The key to chaos and time. Not even Zeus could wield it safely; the gods joined together to shatter it, dissipating its power into a thousand shards - and then they scattered the pieces across the world, no one of them knowing where all the splinters were hidden.
And so it has remained for millennia.
But gods have long memories, and some have greater ambition. Ares, the God of War is slowly gathering together those pieces he can find. He dreams of the day when he might make the staff whole again, and use it to raise himself above his father, much as his father had done before him.
He’s counting on the petty selfishness of his fellow Olympians to keep them unaware of his dark ambition. Most of them pay little attention to the deeds of man, and of those who do, few have cause to connect the meddling of Ares with the long vanished staff.
But there is one man whose deeds demand attention.
A man whose legendary strength is only outmatched by the power of his heart.
