Travelling through time, space and the mystical dimensions.
When the Time Lords intervened to drive the Ancient ones back to their demon dimensions, they were left with an embarrassing problem: a weakness in the walls between this universe and all the rest. With the mystical convergence centred on a primitve Earth, and the threat of the demons returning to disrupt both Time and Space, the Gallifreyian Council sent in a team to deal with the situatution. They came up with an unique solution: they decided to enfuse human genetics with demonic material so that they became sensitive to mystical energies, and would be strong enough to defend the weakened walls between the worlds.
Their intentions were good, but they failed to understand the forces they were meddling with. Instead of breeding a hybrid race of magical warriors, they gifted humanity with a sensitivity to magic - and created the Slayer, one girl among all the others, chosen to take a stand against the forces of darkness.
